Black and White Paper Posies

These are some paper posies that I am working on for a customer for Ellie Marie Designs

 

 

 The solid black is a light weight card stock.

 I can have the brad go through all 4 layers or just the first 3 if you want the back to be blank. I can use the red or dark gray brad in any of these flowers.

Pippa

The newest member of our home! Her name is Pippa.  Her foster mom gave her the name and we think it's really cute.  Not a purebred to be sure but we're calling her a Russian Blue Tabby.  Adorable and adjusting to her new home quite well.

Light Box

One of my biggest obstacles in my Etsy Shop, Ellie Marie Designs, has been taking pictures.  I'm not a photographer but I've learned a few things in the 7 months I've been on Etsy.  One thing is to use natural day light.  Well that means I need a sun shiny day and generally between 11 am and 3 pm.  Being unoccupied and at home during those hours doesn't always work out.  I soon realized that I needed a light box.  Well, those are expensive. So I decided to make my own.  I did a bit of checking on the web and got some advice from my Etsy friend Angel, bought some cheap fabric and some $4.00 light bulbs and voila!

I still need to perfect my picture taking skills but they have improved!  Here's an example:

A Few Happenings

Dear Neglected Blog and Those Who Read,

I thought I'd stop by and say hello.  I really do miss you and I'm sorry for not writing more.  I'm still here.  Life is busy but here is a brief update:

Hannah is home for the summer and looking for a job. Please pray she finds a good one soon.

Her friend drove her to Kentucky and we met her there.  It was a great opportunity to see my 96 year old grandmother.  She just got a pace make put in a month or so ago.  I overheard her telling a couple of people  that she got a heart replacement.  :D

Back at home between homeschooling Holly and looking for a job for Hannah, I've been busy making things for Ellie Marie Designs.

Holly's band concert was tonight.  It went really well.  She played a duet with her friend Katie. Holly's playing clarinet and Katie's playing the flute  It was the Sugar Plum Fairy from the Nut Cracker.

And in our spare time, we observe the baby robins 

in a nest built above our rain gutter.


That about sums up life right now.  Of course there is church and sometimes I cook dinner and clean house.  But not as much as I should.
